2023 Top 10 Artists to look out for

We've done our research and have selected some of the most promising and talented up-and-coming artists in Zimbabwean hip hop that you should be keeping an eye on.


1. Raykaz

RayKaz is a lyrical genius who has proven to be a force to reckon with, following his drop of an EP that is really a classic called "Anxious Confidence". Add that and a very collaborative work ethic then you have a bangers galore. He already has a promising year because he has been dropping non stop since December and with his latest release "Lying All Messi ft. VRST" it is clear he is amongst the artist that will make waves this year.





2. RPSTR

SA Based Zim Hip hop Rapper RPSTR is one of the most best upcoming conscious rappers from Zimbabwe. Making Waves from the city of Joburg RPSTR is more than what meet the ears from his melodical rap skills to his fashion sense its evident this is one of the rappers you must put on you must listen playlist.


3. Kayflow

Kayflow, whose real name is Kudakwashe Maradzika, is a talented rapper and songwriter hailing from Zimbabwe. With a distinctive voice and an ability to craft catchy, memorable hooks, Kayflow has quickly become a rising star in the Zimbabwean hip hop scene.


4. Cyprian

Cyprian, also known as Ngga Rechishona, is a talented rapper and producer from Zimbabwe who has been making waves in the local hip hop scene. His music is characterized by a distinctive blend of traditional African rhythms and contemporary hip hop beats, and his lyrics often touch on themes of social justice, political activism, and the struggles of everyday life in Zimbabwe. Cyprian's music is influenced by his own experiences growing up in the country, and he is known for his honest and thought-provoking lyrics. He has released several well-received singles, including "Makuhwa", "Chinja Maitiro", and "Vanondibatirana", and has collaborated with a number of other Zimbabwean artists, including Jah Prayzah and Ti Gonzi. With his unique sound and powerful message, Cyprian is definitely an artist to watch in the Zimbabwean hip hop scene.



5. AWA KHIWE

Zimbabwean HipHop artist Awa Khiwe is not a pretender but strongly connected to her ndebele roots. She grew up in Makokoba, one of the oldest townships in Bulawayo listening to kwaito of Mshoza, Bongo Maffin, Brown Dash and so on. Her ndebele costumes are a reference to other outstanding women of ndebele culture, like the powerful ndebele queen Lozikeyi. No space left for american wannabes.

5. Meet Luminous

Meet Luminous aka the Ndebele Rap King at least thats what I saw on the internet "not my words". Luminous definitely had a very outstanding 2021 and it seems like 2022 is no exception he is already planning to drop the first video of the year so we are definitely in for a treat. Let's see what he will cook up for us this coming 2023.

6. Micheal Magz

One of the promising artists making waves in the zim circle, after being feature by Zim Hip Hop Superstar Holy Ten, Magz has been one of those artist whose name has been popping in the streets and we did a little digging and have come to conclusion that despite the Holy Ten feature he truly one ofthe artist you should look out for.

7. Bagga

With one of his tracks titled "tupac Shakur" with fellow rapper Mycolebiller another raising Zim Hip Hop Artist it is evident that soon enough this deep voice Zim Hip Hop Artist will be making more waves this year 2023.

8. Mycole Biller

One of the most raising Ghetto Rap rappers in the game, from his smash hit with Bagga titled "Tupac Shakur" its certain that Mycole Biller has one of the best Rap artistry in the industry mainly touching on topics like social commentary ,youth empowerment to also as well as Mental wellness of the youth, Look out for this guy in the year 2023.
